We are looking for a Senior Chemical Specialist to join our Environment team. This full-time position is based in our corporate headquarters in Denmark.

The Environment team are part of BESTSELLER Sustainability and are responsible for developing the supply chain chemical management strategy, setting global standards and operational procedures, and driving improvements in chemical management across the global supply chain. Job Requirements:

About the job 

We require a good team-player with strong knowledge of chemical use and legislation and a proven ability in implementing product chemical testing and safety procedures. As part of this team, you are required to navigate a large, multi-brand fashion company and a complex international supply chain to support our business in meeting chemical requirements. 
More specifically, your tasks will include: 
  • Coordinating the yearly update of our RSL and product testing programme 
  • Being the subject matter specialist for our head office teams on matters related to product chemical management 
  • Managing the product testing programme in suppliers linked to our European Buying Office 
  • Supervising internal training and capacity building for buying and product teams on risks and developments in the industry 
  • Supporting BESTSELLER brand and retail teams, legal sustainability team, logistics and warehouses with chemical expertise 
  • Working closely with 3rd party laboratories in the development and implementation of the global chemical testing programme 
  • Supporting the implementation of BESTSELLER’s Chemical Management strategy across our organization and throughout our global supply chain 
  • Representing BESTSELLER at various industry groups and conferences and applying knowledge and learnings to improve our internal management systems. 
An exciting part of this position concerns the travel activities included. Depending on base location, expect up to 20% of travel time. This includes regular travel to our offices in Denmark as well as visits to global production countries or conferences when required. 
 
Workplace: Aarhus, Brande or Copenhagen, Denmark 

Qualifications 
  • 3+ years working with product chemical management in the garment and/or footwear industry 
  • Education to degree-level within a relevant subject (e.g. environmental management, chemistry, toxicology, environmental sciences or similar discipline) 
  • Good knowledge and experience of supply chain chemical management systems in the apparel and footwear industry is a plus 
  • Have a passion for, and strong knowledge of, chemical use in textiles and legislation across the EU, US and other global markets 
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
